Trimming Plants

I am working on my first planted tank, and have a SAP in the tank. A couple of my plants have some dead parts and need to be trimmed. What is the easiest way to snip off the dead parts without removing the plants from the tank? I was thinking some scissors, and trimming the plants in place, but thought I would see if anyone else had any ideas.

just be careful and snip off the unwanted parts..I tend to pich the area off with my thumbnail but scissors work great...may want to buy a small pair for getting in close. No need to remove the plant from the water, plants are very hardy and will actual grow better with a regular trim..
