Hi guys,

When i am trimming my Echinodorus tenellus is ok to just use my scissors and cut it straight across. Or is there a way of doing it so it grows back? The same goes for my Vallisneria spiralis

Thanks

Hi there.

Both plants mentioned you will have to cut the whole leaf of right where it starts at the roots.

Both these plants leaf will rot away anyway if you only cut a peace off.

You can do, or just remove the older and/or dieing leave on each plant. A sharp tug should remove them, easy once you get the hang of it. If however it is taking over the place you can remove whole plants, just be sure to cut off any runners so as not to remove a whole string of plants. If you need to, then removing all of them and replanting can be done, but it'll take hours no doubt!
