thanks traceyB :) turned the lights on this morning and all i could see was a lot of bright little orange sparkles darting around showing all their pre spawning behaviour, looked great :)

AA: they're awesome fish arent they, i have 9 of them at the moment might even get some more :D

Yup, I've got two males who won't stop beating each other up though...men....

haha men ;) i lost count of how many males i have, too hard to count as theyre all swimming all over the place i know i have a couple though (the most vividly coloured of the bunch thats how i tell them apart lol) constantly chasing eachother all over the tank

Do they have a common name? do they make good community fish?

They are either called espei rasbora or porkchop rasbora. They are very peaceful and make great community fish
yes.gif

My LFS mixes them up with the hengeli rasbora who arent quite as pretty IMO, so look out for that
Here's a video of my guys battling it out, apparently nothing to worry about! Video

It looked like they were 'fighting' over the current in the water.....Again Beautiful fish.... Oh and your tank is lovely...

they are quite hardy fish in my opinion :) which is always good, and my local shop has them mixed with hengeli too, i prefer the espe's but they both have lovely colour to them, especially when they come into breeding or when showing pre spawning behaviour, great fish to keep :good:

Lovely fish, I'd get some but I've been having stocking troubles recently.. stupid woman from the garden centre gave me Gold Gouramis when I asked for Honeys :grr:

just give her this look :sly: or this one :grr: she will soon realise you and the honey gourami's you wanted are not to be messed with :p haha

I'll just hunt her down and lock her in the room with a computer and an internet connection until she learns the difference. Along with every other fish species she wrongly labels so she can't go wrong next time somebody asks her something.
