Trigon 350 Planted Journal

well here i go, my first attempt at a planted tank!!!
the tank i am using is the juwell trigon 350 corner tank.
i have a rena xp1 external filter. but i am definetely going to get more filtration
my lighting is 2 x 18" 15w t8s and 2 x 36" 30w t8s with reflectors
my plan is to get a well planted tank then add cardinal tetras and angel fish. with other fish based around these

however my first job is to clean out the tank i have!!

can any one give advice on what substrate to get?

Hi darrene, substrates can be a personal thing but there are lots on the market to choose from, if your budget is good then you could try all ada stuff, but if not then you have eco-complete which i will be using, depending on where you buy it can cost between £20 and £25 pounds a bag, have a look on aquaessentials web site it will give you some ideas. regards john

just had my tetratec 1200 filter delivered i now have set it up. and i have cleande u p the tank just need buy some substrate which i will do in a couple of days time(payday) lol

fianlly added TetraPlant Complete Substrate

then i added a layer of gravel

then i filled with water

now i am ready to start cycling

how do you guys think i'm doing

Will you be having CO2 and have you thought about decor and plant list?

won't be having co2 and i will gradually build up the decor with bogwwod
should be ordering some plants soon!!!!

just bought 2 pieces of mopani wood and one piece of bogwood a couple of plants from lfs although not sure what they are as they werent labelled but they look alright

will be ordering plants online as will know what i am getting!!!!

finally got some bits of bogwood in and a couple of plants. should be getting some more this week

my plants have arrived although i did not get everthing i wanted as plantalive.com were out of stock on somethings.
the plants are quite small but i hope they will soon start putting on the growth

about a week ago i went plant crazy and got one of each plant in the store.. i dont really know any of the names of mine, but i can see you have a couple of the ones i have.

i cant wait too see ur tank when its done with fishies
