Hi maybe you can help as you will gather we have now almost completed our sale of fish plus tanks. I was thinking way into the future once we are ready that i may down size to a trigon 190. Now if i was to remove the internal filter that comes with one of those had a bare tank and bottom with a very good filtration system plus UV do you think i might beable to house 6 discus in one. I am not sure myself that is why i am asking. Many thanks for any help :good:

Well, thats around 50gal right? so i think, bare bottemd, superb filteration, Lots of w/c and lerally no tankmates i think 5 will be fine. but thats imo so someone else may disagree. but i think its ok.

Agreed. You would have to carry out very reg water changes though.

Thanks for the info Girls and Guys thats great news really because when and if this happens i will be feeding beefheart at least once a day so i would be vacuuming any left overs out daily so there for a water change would happen daily and we should be able to have 6 with a bit of luck then. :good:

Don't go for 6.Even numbers are best! I know a few people on here who won't keep any discus in a tank smaller than 50 gals, so even if you did get 6 it would be unwise because of the extra waste.

Lol "odd" numbers are bestyou mean. but yea go for 5 not 6.

plus im a guy, the name its the two fish discus and angels i used to keep both but now only discus lol.. not an "angel of discus" lmao!!

Ok thanks for that. I am seriously thinking about it though coz i am thinking it might just be a bit crawl to keep discus in a trigon since i dont think there would be enough swimming area for them. I may just have to give up the fishes altogether i think. I am very sad tonight as all my babies have now gone and i am now left with two very big empty tanks. God i loved those discus it is amasing how attached you become to them. :-(
