hey my fish have been acting werid lately:

Gasping and breathing heavily,

And its just seem to be affect 3 platies and 1 glowlight tetra, i checked water and ammonia is 0mg and nitrite is also 0mg and nitrate is 5mg and Ph is 7.0

So what am i doing wrong.

I did a waterchange of 1/3 and added conditioner to replacement water, Still no luck. Is it disease? if so what?

I'm going on vaccation on monday and i know my tank is gonna play up!!!

Are the fish flicking and rubbing on objects, red inflamed gills or pale.

Do you have some surface movement, maybe tank low on oxygen, is there a air pump in operation? Without total explaination of set up, it is impossible to give good advice.

if mine have ever done this it has been either a blocked filter or lack of oxygen, if this is the case i just lift my filter slightly out of the water so that the water coming out of the top gives abit of a waterfall effect and drags oxygen back in the water with it

First off check filter and water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

'bigfish' has already checked their water stats, as stated in the first post...which seem to be okay.

Like the others have suggested, it may be lack of oygen in the water. Can you provide more info, size of tank, fish in tank etc...
