Well this 'Newbie' is still trying to get some more night time pictures of my Upside Down Cats so that I might share them with y'all. They are very shy to say the least.
Your Forum has been most helpful to me and has saved my fish from the most likely common Newbie mistakes. Not properly applying cycling of fish and fish tanks. These compounded mistakes almost killed off everything. Understanding what you posters have said about cycling and cleaning of our tanks helped me bring mine back to life.
I had changed off 50% of the water, the water was tap water I had treated and let sit for 24 hours. I also changed out my bio filter at the same time. Unknown to me the city had changed water sources to a lake we are not allowed to eat the fish out of, they had more than doubled the chemicals so there would be no smells in the water. I also cleaned my gravel. You can figure out what began to happen. ammonia ^ = nitirite ^ = nitrate ^ A newbie lesson well learned
