Hi, one of my Threadfin Rainbows is showing signs of swimbladder issues (barrel rolling, upside down etc) I am aware that this can be treated if it's bacterial but can it be treated if it is caused by a lowering of temperature? I think it's this as I did a w/c on the tank yesterday and the temp did drop by 3 or 4 degrees which is far more than I usually get (the water must have been exceptionally cold from the mains last night!). The fish in question has only been i the tank for a few weeks and was slightly weaker than the others anyway.

Internal bacteria med. That's really all you can do.
Once fish barrel roll and turn upside down the chances are not good.

I was afraid that may be the case

would it be better to put her out of her misery to stop any unnecessary suffering? Thanks for replying though.

Give the fish a chance as they can surprise you sometimes.
I would definately use an internal bacterial med.
If in the uk anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Keep fingers crossed for you.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the crossed fingers but it was too late for my poor girl. As I say she was the weakest of the 6 females I bought a week ago and has not looked A1 from the off, though with no definitive symptoms.
Thanks again, this forum must be almost a full time job for you with all these pleas for help!

Bless her.
Sorry for your loss.
R.I.P.

Thanks.
