Hi,

How do you dose a tank with Maracyn? Do you just drop the tablets in the water, or do you let the tablets dissolve in some tank water and then put it in? My bettas have columnaris and maracyn was the only antibiotic I could find. Thanks

You just drop the tablets in the tank - they slowly dissolve over a couple of hours or so if I remember right.

My fish just died of columnaris, to treat you should use both marcyn and marcyn II just drop in the tank the marcyn from my understanding works on the fish the II takes out the columnaris bacteria in the watter

Ok, I dissolved them a little, but I couldn't wait anymore. I put them in. I have lost 2 female bettas in one day, and I am pretty sure another is on deaths door. I don't have the money to get maracyn 2, I spent $25 on the Maracyn. I will continue with the Maracyn and hope for the best. Thanks guys

Sandwich the tablet between the 2 sides of a folded paper towel and use the end of a knife or something to crush them up, then dump them into a cup with some tank water, and let them dissolve - within a few minutes they're ready to go into the tank.

If you drop the whole tablet in, they don't always dissolve all the way.

Good idea BM. I have been soaking them for 24 hours in tank water in a cup. It still doesn't dissolve them all the way. I will do that for tomorrow.
