Hi,

When one of my fish gets ill, I just treat the whole tank. Is this bad? should I separate the fish and treat it separately?

cao. :)

hi,
its best if possable,if you have room to have a hospital tank,
dont do what i did, mine has fry in it now :S .
also it depends on what your treating for some things like ich, fungus, fin rot ect you will usually treat whole tank anyway. :) donna.

If you have a quarentine/hospitale tank, you can treat the fish separately in it that is the best option, otherwise its usually best to just treat the whole tank.
Some deseases like whitespot though or other parasite deseases, its generally best to treat the whole tank that infected fish was found in rather than move it to a hospital tank and it treat it separately though.

Ok, thanks. :)
One of my fish seems to have swimbladder disease at the moment and I have treated the whole tank, as i read that was a bacterial infection, and i figured it would best to treat the whole tank. I just wasnt sure if it would affect the healthy fish.

Sadly once swim bladder has progressed there is no cure, you could try some shelled peas, good luck.
