My QT is too small and 3 of my fish got a touch of fin rot. I was told to use nitrofurazone in the food, A QUARTER CAPSULE [I told him that I only use 2 cubes of food at a time along with a little garlic, and Zoe]. Well, now my fish is kind of laying on it's side and only swimming occasionally so I called my other fish store. He said that he would use a whole capsule in an entire package of Prime Reef! So pretty much the only thing I want answered is if my fish is going to die.

Maybe . To give it the best chance of success, get an airstone in there, run some carbon and test your pH just to make sure. Good luck

Well, whenever a fish is laying on the bottom gasping for breath adding oxygen to the water can't hurt ;). Not sure if that product removes oxygen but a vast majority of meds, especially in saltwater, do. If you dont have an airstone either hook up a venturi to one of your powerheads or add another one and point it at the surface for more surface agitation

He isn't gasping for breath he just looks like he's in pain or something idk i think hes almost gone. I hate that stupid guy who told me that "he does it all the time" he gave me false info once before...that idiot has NO business telling people what to do with their fish

Probably well-intentioned but clearly too busy and lacking the necessary info to help you out, sorry :(.

Yep I definitely won't be making that mistake again but just an update, he must love us as much as we love him because he sure had the will to live. He fought it off and is almost acting normal again. He is my favoite fish and if I would have lost him, I wouldn't have had as much passion for fish keeping as I do. His personality is one of a kind. :)
