Been having some problems for a long time now with blu green algae and i cant seem to get rid of it......ill do a 6 gallon water change and give the gravel a gd vaccuming and ill get the bulk of the algae out.......my plants have go the algae on them 2 and is making them very unsightly.

once i manage to remove a lot of the algae from the tank a few days later and its back again.

all help will be much appreciated.

Do a 3 day black out.

i) Clean the tank and remove as much of it as possible. 50% water change.

ii) Cover the tank completely, not a single bit of light to get in

iii) Turn of CO2 if any and leave the tank for 3 days, don't worry about the plants or fish they will be fine. Don't even feed the fish.

iv) After three days you will see a noticeable reduction in the BGA, then do a 50% water change and clean the filter again.
