Did you cover the tank when treating? That is essential.

With water changes, be sure the water temp is the same. Buy a clean new bucket and add water to it and use a thermometer to make sure the water is the same temp as in the tank before replacing the water.

Vaccuum the gravel. . .

Good luck.

When doing the water change, use the recommended amount of dechlorinator for the amount of water you're adding back into the tank. Using more than recommended isn't gonna hurt, either.

where are you keeping the fish that have ick? i would use a dechlorinator, make sure the temperature and ph is right, and toss in the water...if your gonna have problems with the temp/treating the water besides the medication, i would use the water from ur main tank if u have one for the water changes in the hospital...assuming the conditions in your main tank are good. ive heard that you want to keep these fish with ich seperate for around 2 weeks and medicated for that period of time. you dont need the beneficial bacteria stuff in my opinion because using the medication as directed along with the water changes, the wastes in the water shouldnt be a problem.
fyi: you dont want to use a carbon filter medium in your tank while you are medicating the fish
