Hello --

I'm leaving the country for two weeks at the end of the month and while I have someone to care for my fish, I'm wondering whether or not it is worth it to have her do water changes while I am gone.

I have a 10 gallon breeder tank with three guppies and about two dozen fry that I do a partial water change on twice a week, 20% and 50%

A community tank that is 30 gallons that I do a 20% water change on every two to three days.

And then two African Clawed frogs in a 20g long tank.

The frogs will be fine but it is the fish I am concerned about. My intuition is to have her maintain the schedule, or even to just do a partial water change once a week, but I'm worried something will go wrong in my absence.

All of the tanks are cycled and the levels are normal.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

if the tanks are all adequately filtered and not overstocked then once a week changes should be fine.

then it's not too much work for her to keep up with your schedule and the fish still get some water changes.

edit - is that a typo that the tanks are cycling? did you mean cycled?
