I need to get the guppies from school to home (a 20 minute walk or 5 minute car drive)
they are currently in cold water and will be put into my tank at home where the heater will be set to 20oc (i will increase it by a degree a day untill it gets to 250c.
My friend is going to bring into school, a fish bag, is this the best way??

If the distance is 20 minutes at most, I wouldn't worry too much. Personally, I find large jars (like pickle jars) useful for moving small fish. Only half-fill with water. Don't put too many (like 6 rather than 20) in one jar. Fish bags are great if you have them. Just be careful the baby fish don't get wedged into the corners (this happens when the bags are put into a carrier bag or rucksack, and the corner of the fish bags bend over).

Not sure why the guppies are in cold water. Not very good for them. Good idea to adapt them slowly. Float the bags in the aquarium for 20-30 minutes to let the fish warm up once you get them home.

Cheers,

Neale

Yes, I would say big jars would be best. And slowly adapting them to warm water is good, but 250 C is just a little hot I think

The teacher in our school keeps them in cold water. She got them home and they are in her tank, as far as i know they are ok at the mo. Where is she, sorry for telling you i should have left it for her.
