Hello Guys,

I am just wondering when it is safe to transport frys into a different tank other then the one they were born in?? My frys are going on about 5weeks old now and i would really like to try breeding another couple of my bettas but i am worried that moving the bubbas before the correct time will result in losing them. Being as they are the result of my first attempt at breeding (and that the mother is no longer alive), i would never forgive myself if i lost them as a result of moving them to early.

I would love to start the process over again, but not at the expense of losing the lives of my little ones. So in your opinion and from your experiences, when is a safe time to transport them into another home?

Personally, I would try to be patient and leave them in the original tank. Fry can be very sensitive and the smallest of changes could have an effect on them.

Thankyou. This is the answer i expected. I thought i would just make sure. My babies even have the original water. I have never done a complete water change (only top ups) because of fear i would suck them up and even though that goes against some things i have read, it worked for me and my fry are going strong. :good:

It's always best to go for the safest option in aquatics. :)

my guppy and cory fry are in different tank from what they were born in.
but use water from the tank they were born in

This is what i was going to do. Being as there would be more then enough water as i'd be transferring them to something smaller. But i think i might leave it a far while longer. Just to minimize the chances of something going wrong. They are like little fish now and are showing colours. I can't wait till i can tell what sex they are :D Sooo proud of my bubbas.

Yes i am realizing this more and more with each passing week with my fry
