Transporting Big Fish A Long Way

if you have a large clean bucket you could always get the portible pump(which are very nice by the way) stick tht over the side of the bucket, cover the bucket with a bag or something just tape it down, and then put stuff around it so it wont tip over. thats pertty much the only way you are going to be able to use the portible pump.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo, dont transport big fish in buckets.....big fish gets angry wacks it self hard against bucket = bad damage. Big fish angry in a bag = no harm done.

Also putting airstone in a container with a fiesty fish could mean damage if it wacks itself against it.

I think everyones gone a bit OTT really.

Get some large fish bags, tripple bag him with enough water to cover him and rest of the space for air. Stick him in a poly box, pad out any spaces.

Chuck him in the back of the car and forget about him for a journey!

Cookie the fahaka puffer travellled this way for 4+ hours. Drove him to northampton at 4am then guy met m and drove another 2 hours back to his house. I did it the same as I just said, big bags, poly box and padding!

I agree with this. The large styro you are talking about using will be fine on its own. I have seen large fish at auctions sold this way, they are in a styro 12+ hours, no heat pack, bag, O2 tabs , or any of that nonsense. 4 hours is a piece of cake, just make sure the top is secured. Duck tape works well for this.

ok well lined 2'x2' poly box, lid secured, less panicking it is then :good:
