Went back to my local fish shop and realised that I hadn't written down the full name of the fert hence why no-one seem to recognise it as being excellent or awful .

I think out of the selection the Tropica aquacare range would be best but not sure, so can you have a quick skim of the article. My LFS has the nutrition capsules and one of the liquid ferts not sure which one though. Lighting is 2x11W Arc pods on an 8 gallon tank and a 13w desklamp about a foot above the tank to promote the dracaena sanderiana to grow straight. Planting will also be E.tenellus and Sagitaria subulata with a dosing of easy carbo if you think its necessary?

In the other conjoined tank via filtration is another 11W arc pod, Elodea (anacharis) and xmas moss which I believe will only do better with whatever I add to the other tank :).

you can get away without them, it just requires you to dose the water column more heavily, if you dont have a nutritous substrate then they will help.
