afternoon everyone...

Just want to know what is the best way of transferring my 2 adult mollies from my small 5 gal tank to my larger 20 gal tank. the water specs are almost the same, just the nitrate that differs.

In what way does it differ? Higher in the bigger thank? By how much.

its lower in the bigger planted tank, plus i am due a water change today or tomorrow! think its 20ppm in the bigger tank!

Net the fish, walk over to the other tank, plop 'em in.

As above, except I usually fill a bucket or my ubiquitous ice cream/magarine tub full of water and hold the net in there while I'm walking; don't like keeping fish out of water if I can avoid it :)

I like eating fish so i cant really feel guilty for keeping them out the water for 10 seconds while i move them :>

Fair enough; I just don't like the flapping; it makes me panicky, let alone the fish!

i like that idea as the big tank is down stairs in the front room and the smaller one is upstairs in the bedroom.. ill go find the ice cream tub..

No, definitely not!

It's good practice though. I don't keep marines, but I remember reading or being told that you should never allow anemones or corals to be exposed to the air. Might as well get into the habit now in case you upgrade to marines in the future ;)
