Hi.I will be moving fish and old media etc over to new tank soon.I have 2 platies.I guppy.3 ottos.3 wcm.was just wondering if these fish will be producing enough ammonia to keep bacteria going in filter.I will be adding more fish at a later date.the new tank is around 80 gallons/300 litres.thanks

They'll certainly produce some ammonia which will keep some bacteria going, yes. It's the same amount of fish and therefore waste so the filter will already have reached an equilibrium with the ammonia production versus how much bacteria is need to deal with that amount.

You'll need to add stock slowly over a few weeks/months so that the filter can then re-adjust to the greater amounts of waste.

Alternatively, you could leave your current stock where they are and fully cycle the new tank and then you'd be able to add pretty much the full stock at the same time if practical to do so.
