How long can plants last without light? Because shipping is usually done in 2-3 days so the plants don't die, but many online sellers are from Asia, and it takes around 10-15 days for the plants to get here in the United States. They are able to offer DOA guarantees, so what makes them so confident that the plants won't die in that time? Is there something about the plants that help it survive these long harsh trips or should everyone not buy from any source that takes a long time to ship?

I ordered many of my plants from Aquatic Magic in Singapore. It took 13 days to get them and they looked just as good if not better than anything I have bought locally.

basically in a plastic bag/ fish bag packed inside a cardboard box. Just to keep the moisture in. Sometimes you will see how they are packed if your LFS gets a delivery.

So in other words, plants can survive without sunlight for prolonged periods without adverse effects?
