My hubby has always thought my "betta fascination" was wierd, over the past 2-3 years as I would bring home one after another, he'd just shake his head and say I was crazy
After 4 moves in one year and moving 18+ tanks to and fro, he said that's it!!! No more tanks unless we can get a big one with an Oscar. Well he "let" me sneak in 2 more 10g, a 5g for a dwarf puffer who of course just had to have a snail tank.
Well last week we went to the dog park and after getting in the car it became quite apparent that our 2 dogs smelled like nasty sewer water! After about 2 minutes of gagging we decided to run to Petsmart and get the dogs baths. We dropped them off and Steve went over to the juvy Oscars, stuck his finger in and started petting them, I knew that look in his eye
We looked at tanks and decided to run over to our local LFS (rather give them our business if you know what I mean) talked to some of the guys and decided to splurge our tax refund on a 125g tank w/ all the fixtures. We're in the process of cycling/cloning the tank and would like 2 Oscars, an albino one and a tiger one, along w/ 1 pleco. I've been trying to research like crazy on successful Oscar tanks. We are looking at 2 from the LFS who are about a year old and have been in the same tank for 6+ months. The guys from there aren't sure what sex they are and I've read it can be kind of difficult. Any tips to help me ensure a successful outcome?
