Hi there, I have a Juvi A. Jacobfreibergi (proposedly female), who over that past week seeemed bloated. We thought this was a sign of Internal Parasites (as some of mine do have them), and one day her anus was sticking out. I was told that this is a sign of Callamanus, today however, all of her swelling has gone away, and the anus is back to where it should be. Her mouth seems full (even though i didn't feed them today). My guess is she was filling up with eggs, and then laid them (the ovidepositor). So now she's incubating them. I'd find all of this easy to believe, if however, she wasn't so young.

At what age can they lay eggs?

She still seems to dart to particles floating in the water, and take them in(didn't feed them today), so that also makes me think she might just have taken a pebble. However, i only have fine gravel, which wouldn't get lodged in any of their mouths.

I'm confused, really, I am. :(

Females can start breeding at surprisingly young ages so this may well be it.
