I've decided I want a stronger filter for my 20g, since I'm doing a tiny bit of overstocking and it's always good to have a little extra filtration. I currently have the Marineland Penguin Bio-Wheel 150, for up to 30g, stuffed to the brim with media. I want to get the Marineland Penguin 200, for up to 50g. But I'm a little worried the current might churn my fish around in such a small tank. I know my Sparkling Gouramis don't enjoy swift currents, and I was wondering if the 200 model would be fine.
Any input?

There shouldn't be any issues. Even with the increased water flow, there will still be "dead" spots in the aquarium, for your gouramis. Such as behind decorations.
