Ive got a ten gal tank its got two elodea plants in it which grow like crazy! about 6inches a week and ive got a crypt plant which i only got a week ago my tanks only just finished cycling and ive got 4 guppys 3 platys and 3 mollys in it there all abou 2 months old all doing fine.

I love having live plants in it and the ones i have are doing fine but can i have more? i have quite a bit of space left and i might get rid of of one of the elodea plants.

My lighting is a 11w Arcadia arc pod my temp is 26.

Thanks

Well, I'd have to say that it's only too many plants if it looks like the fish have no room to swim, or when it starts to look like that. If it is, then I would suggest either removing some plants or just trimming them down. But i'm no expert lol :)

Plants are good more plants means no problems with algae, but imagening 10gal tank with some gravel and all those roots going though it soon ull have roots poping out of the gravel :)

My opinion if you like having plants and they grow nice healthy and well with trimming from time to time is good. I also trim roots every 2-3 month take the plant out and cut all those long roots off.

I never thought about the roots im using sand as substrate is that any good for plants?
