I am new to the saltwater aquariums and I have found a local vendor that sells me tangs. I have a 75 gallon aquarium and I wanted to know how many fish are ideal to keep in that aquarium and if there are any tangs that are not compatable with each other (mainly getting Black nose, Blue, Yellow, powder blue Achillies, and sohal tangs) I just want to see what i can have and what type of setup should I have for them.

Thank You
George G.

first of all, what are the dimensions of your tank? you say 75 gallons, but a longer tank is more suitable for tangs than a cube because they are straight line swimmers and needs lots of swimming space. Also, i don't think tangs of the same body type get along at all.

The Sohal will get waaay to big to have any kind of swimming room in that tank. I've heard they get at least a 1.5' long so you will need a really long tank for them to get any swimming room. As for the blue tang, my tank is 6' long and i worry about him having enough room to swim when he gets 1' long. The only kinds of tang i would think about putting in a tank that small would be a yellow tang, or a yellow eye tang, or maybe a scopas...

Navarre should be around soon to help out more :*)

I wouldn't put a tang in any tank with a length less than 6 feet. So my recommendation would be to forget tangs all together in your tank. There are plenty of other VERY cool fish that you can keep though.
