My lil' Egyptian toad's leg is swelling up. He's eating and...well, soaking good, but is it MBD?

I've only had him a few months. A few weeks ago. I don't know how old he is but he looks like a sub adult. And no.

I don't have enough money for a vet! That's why I'm asking the people on the board! Otherwise I'd be right down the road at the animal clinic. But I want to know what someone with a bit of experience thinks, because he's exhibiting textbook symptoms of MBD, and I don't have the cash to go hit up the local vet. I just want to know if I need to buy a UV setup, because that, I do have enough money for. Sorry if that read a bit angry, but I'm in a desperate situation here. I've combed every book on Reptile & Amphibian Care and Medical Disorders that I own, and it seems he has a touch of MBD. Anyone else think so?

I know little about amphibians, but what are you feeding him. Oh, and I don't blame you for sounding angry. It's hard to know what people mean by typing. I understand you on the vet point.

Hi sorry to hear about your problem. Yes, it does sound like MBD, but It's difficult to confirm without seeing the animal in person. The best thing to prevent this happening is to use either a calcium and vitamin dusting powder on the live foods, (I use Nutrobal), two or three times a week or every feed with growing animals,or/and, access to a UV lamp like a reptisun 2.0.
All the best from Bill.
