Hi All

Im currently switching my 180l tank about with new substrate etc etc and im thinking of installing a power head (Hydor Koralia 1600)as i like the idea of the additional water movement now ive read a bit online and these are mainly used in reef set up ups

Does anyone have one of these in there tropical tank roughly the same size as mine and did you see any benifits in having it in there happier fish better water quality etc etc.

They are great for river fish. So it really depends on what you have in the tank.

Current stock is low

1 x clown loach
4 SAE fish
1 x small pleco
4 x guppies

As tcamos stated, they are only really needed if you have fish that require them. If you possibly have some sort of issue with filtration and/or waset build up then again, they can be useful...as they can if your regular filtration output doesn't disturb any surface water for oxygen absorption. Just not in my particular taste, that's all.

Terry.
