My 6 gallon has a little flounder and 3 dwarf puffers. It's lightly planted, but I may make it super-planted. Do puffers like plants?

Please don't complain about them not getting along, they're fine.

why did you try and look after puffers if you didnt have the first idea of how to look after them?

for a start you are way overstocked, and if you actually red up on puffers you would know that they love plants

Just look at her sig, she knows nothing about oddballs yet keeps 3 dwarf puffers in a 6 gallon, and then asks for our advice but at the same time not to complain.

Irrespective of your stocking levels, dont puffers etal live in brackish water, what plants were you thinking of, also to grow plants sucessfully a good substrate is required so changing all that may upset your flounder,

dwarf puffers are freshwater, not brackish
Not being a puffer enthusiast myself always had in my mind that puffers were brackish fish, but doing a little research I find I was wrong and stand corrected. Just goes to show 35 years in this hobby and still learning. Thanks for your enlightenment treelo!

yeap dwarf's are 100% pure freshwater. chibi you might want to read the pinned topic on dwarf puffers on the oddball section

It seems that Puffers are becoming a fashionble fish to own, unfortunately a high % of people have no idea what they are taking on. dont do any research, dont have a clue how to properly look after them :(

1) Dwarf Puffers even though small are some of the more aggressive Puffers
2) They need dense planting
3) Then require crustacians as part of a mixed meaty stable diet (not flake)
4) you should only really be looking at 1 Dwarf Puffer per 3-5 Gallons

Please go and do some research on Dwarf Puffers.

dwarfpuffer dot com , thepufferforum and the oddball section here and read the stticky.

dwarf puffers do like lots of plants, not only to fade out aggression between them, but also it gives them something to do. they will swim around them and entain them selves, also when feeding common snails, the snails will go around on the plants and the puffers will "hunt" them.
can you please tell me what flounder you have, im intrested in it as i thought they all grow huge. i may look into getting one my self after some research.

I knew I'd be attacked, but that's okay. I got my question answered. Thanks. I feed my puffers ghost shrimp, brine shrimp and frozen mysis shrimp. I'm taking good care of them, geez. They're fine. <_<

My flounder is a Trinectes maculatus.
