To Much Light

i know this may sound stupid but would happen if you had to much light would algea just go crazy am i answering my own question?

There is only ever to much light if you dont have the CO2 and nutrients to work with it.
Eg. 150W over a 50 gallon isnt too much if you had CO2 injection of about 2bubbles a second and dosed enough nutrients.

However if you didnt have enough CO2 or ferts then the tank would be plagued with algae.

so 150watt over a 10 gallon would be way to much unless you had lots of ferts and co2

Yes. The heat being emitted from the light would also make the water very hot in a 10 gallon.
