Hey Gang,

Quick question I started a 10 gallon tank over the weekend and added fish right away ( I know cycle, cycle cycle ) but never had any problems with fish dying so I put in a aqua tech 5-10 fileter and a fuvual 2 internal filter. Seems to be a little over kill but also is keeping everything nice and clean and levels are low. Any thoughts

Also just as a side note I have bio blocks in the one filter and filter med in the other. I also started with a planted tank this time first round at it.

I will keep everyone post but thanks for any advice.

Hi,

Over-filtering is not possible, however some fish may not appreciate the current produced from overfiltering. IF the fish seem to be having problems with so much water movement, you may need to re-consider, but otherwise i would say it's fine.

Out of interest, how's the cycle going?

Regards

BTT

you realise people dont just go on about the cycle for the sake of it dont you?

I know that is important but Ran the water for couple days and did the Tanks Starter like I have always done never had any real issues. I know some people run into alot of issues but me persoanlly I throw some bio blocks in and a bag of amounia chips in and really never have any spikes. I was more intrested in the amount of filter I am using never ran 2 before I usally only run one and then have the level issues in like 6 months. Plus I am also interested because of the plants I know some say that dosnt any anything to do with it but new on this end with the planted tank.

Thanks for advice
Jc
