To Filter Or Not To Filter

Ok, so I just set up a 10 gallon tank and put a mesh divider in it for my 2 bettas. I was just wondering if I should put a filter in to keep the water from becoming stagnant and keep it on the lowest setting? If so what kind would you recommend for my tank size?

I have a 10 gall divided and i have a sponge filter in it that runs from an air pump... I have found them to be really good.

Any filter works, even walmart carries decent, cheap 10 gallon power filters. I have had good experiences with even those.

i would filter. On my 5 gallon DP tank i have a stingray filter. better to have some bacteria and water flow than none

although maybe a sponge filter or 2 on a betta tank!
