To Clean The Glass Or Not To Clean The Glass?

Ok, my glass is slimy, but NOT discoloured, do I clean the slime off or leave it for the Bristle Nose Catfish and Golden Apple Snail to feed on or clean it off because they're not actually eating it anyway???

How long had it bee on the glass. If its been for a long time clean by something. If it isnt that long keep it for a period of time maybe they will feed on it later.

Don't know how long the glass has been slimy for, I only just noticed it today when I did my regular tank maintenance.

There's no harm in cleaning it yourself. Sometimes my BN doesn't bother eating algae off the friont of the tank so we just give it a clean ourselves. ;)

I don't think leaving it for two days will make much difference to be honest. Best cleaning it now so you can stay on top of things. :good:

Ok, I'll clean it next weekend if it's still there then.

New pictures Stang, very nice!

I usually clean the front of the the tank and leave the sides to go green

Don't forget to clean the tank BEFORE a water change, this allows a load of whatever you are cleaning off to be removed and not feed algae growth...

Thanks Jozlyn!
Where have you been? Not seen you about for a while.
It won't harm the tank leaving it there, it just looks unsightly. If it is still there at the weekend, like someone said, give it a clean before you do your water change.

We've been to Queensland for a holiday with the kids, just got back last night, was absolutely lovely, we went to Sea World the fish there are just beautiful. I'm thinking a marine tank might just be thing for the lounge room divider mmmmmm

The tank was a little on the ordinary side tho! But the auto feeder appeared to work well, and I had no fish losses while we were away, I had anticipated loosing a couple of Neons and maybe the tiniest Bumble Bee Goby but all were perfectly happy and I think glad to see me with some fresh food instead of all the dried stuff they've been eating for the last 10 days!

And boy were the fish cheap in Queensland, wish I could've brought some back with me!

Sounds lovely! I'm glad you had a nice time.
A marine tank would look great, we're in the process of setting one up at the moment.
It must have been nice to come back to happy, healthy tanks. it's always a worry when you go away.
Good to see you back. ;)

Thanks, it's nice to be back. LoL I was so worried about the fish while I was away, *grins* my husband thinks I'm nuts!
