My birthday is coming up and my boyfriend was going to buy me a larger tank, probably a 75-100 gallon. I already have a 29 gallon and it sits on my dresser (large dresser). I was thinking about converting my 29 gallon into the 75-100 gallon and then getting rid of my dresser and hanging all of my clothes in my closet. That way, the larger tank could go against my wall. The thing is...I might be moving in a year or two, and I wouldn't want to have to sell my aquarium or fish. My dad has a huge van and my mom has a van as well and they might be able to fit the tank in the van to transport it to wherever I move. Or I could always rent a U-haul or something? I just wouldn't want to kill my fish from bagging them all up and moving them. (It would be about an hour drive) Do you think they would be okay?

Also, I REALLY REALLY want a more aggressive tank...I definately wanted to get an albino oscar. But then I would definately not be able to add the fish that are in my 29 gallon into my larger tank.

Should I find another spot in the house for my 29 gallon and just go for a more aggressive tank with the 75-100 gal, or should I just keep a nice larger community set up?

Hi endilliteracy :)

I say, GO FOR IT !!!!

Often fish have traveled all around the world before arriving at the lfs and then your home, so you need not worry about transporting them an hour's drive away. :D

My preference would be toward setting up the big tank as a peaceful community with lots of different cory cats swimming happily around on the bottom. It would be lovely with lots of plants and rocks to add interesting places for them to explore. :D

Go for it.

Yea. I know I would convert the 29 gallon into the larger tank because I couldn't just see them in the little 29 gallon compared to the bigger 100 gallon. Plus, it would take awhile for my molly to fill up a 100 gallon with fry.

I have one poor albino cory all by himself. He only has one eye. He was rescued. :-(

Does this sound okay for a 100 gallon? Could I add more or would that be it?

100 gallon

6 long finned blue rams
10 neons

1 female betta
1 rubber lipped plec
