Tmc V2 Skimmers

Were looking at upgrading the skimming on the tank and were thinking of one of these, any one know if there any good?

Yer they are good ive got one on my 55. they do the job, only thing is that the pump is a bit annyoing trying to fit it in the tank as it cant be no more lower the 20cm or summit but once you have solved that its not bad, oh and u get alot of satl deposits on the outlet tube so be warned.

excelent, were looking for one for our tank and they seem to be the best for the price, everything else seems to be an extra 30-40 quid on top, would going for a more expencive skimmer such as a prisim be wother the higher price

NO PRISM. sorry, had to get that off my chest. those things are the bain of many a newb reefer's exhistence

yer prisms are pile of poo! they are noisey, not very good and also they pour water into the tank so it becomes a very loud water fall.

I just bought myself a Deltec MC500. Its rated at 170G lightly stocked and I only have a 50 G tank. It's way OTT for my tank but a skimmer is something you do not want to skimp on. I had a crappy airstone one before and I am collecting roughly the same amount every day in my deltec than my old one did in one week.

Go Deltec, they far outskim the V2's.

yer deltec will they do own.. however in this option the v2 would be fine. Put it this way its better than a prism

caw you lot are all hammering the prizm!! the delux one!! i got one of those
though to be honest i never had a problem with it, the return is in the water so i get no noise and its not that loud!
the only problem i had with it was the collection cup wasnt all that large so i drilled a hole in it and made a proper drain for it.
my waters allways fine and i get a regular amount of protein from it so honestly have no worries with it at all.

ah well one mans coal is another mans gold lol
