I'm thinking about adding some plants to my 12 gallon neon tetra tank, and I'm looking into CO2 products atm. I saw my LFS had this Aquagro 'complete set' by TMC for what I consider a very cheap price. Just wondering if any one has had any experience with this product and could provide any information on how it works and if it's reliable and worth a beginner trying it out.

Thanx.

It's basically an aerosol, that is sprayed into a diffuser which slowly diffuses the CO2 into the water, it isn't really that affective to be honest.

I'm sorry but I think I must be missing something, cuz from what I understand about CO2 isn't that how it's supposed to work?

It's the way it's diffused that isn't effective, the CO2 collects in a chamber, where by it is left to dissolve, as you can imagine, if a ceramic diffuser was used, the small bubbles dissolve quickly, whereas large bubbles don't

Also, you need to be there to press it, if you forget or are away, CO2 fluctuates a lot...

I prefer the fermentation systems to these, be it DIY or otherwise.

Even better than them obviously are proper pressurised sets, but expect to pay £70-£100 for a decent one.
