Tiny Snails!

I bought a new plant on ebay, it is attached to a lovely piece of driftwood and I'm really happy with it.

But since I put it in the tank, I have two tiny snails in there too. They must have been on the plant when I got it.

Will the snails do any harm? Or should I get rid of them?

And if I need rid, how can I get them out? I tried with the net but they keep falling down into the gravel. Please, please, please don't tell me I have to touch them

Aww be brave!! Give em a good hard poke while they are on the glass, and that is the end of them. But there will prolly be more then you think, you might have 100s of eggs.

ARRRGGHHH I hate snails! How can I get rid of them?

Maybe plastic plants would have been a better move

Lol well you can get some loaches, or use chemicals.

Leave a chunk of lettuce (weighted) on the substrate over night, hopefully by morning they should be on it gorging themselves. Just repeat that untill you catch nothing Means you don't have to touch them either

Cook them slowly at 75 celcius - tasty Joking

You could still have snails with plastic plants, they can come with fish if you get a bit of gravel in the bag. Providing you don't overfeed your fish they should not reach massive numbers, they are also good for cleaning up decaying plant matter, algae etc etc so not always a bad thing to have! Squashing them can, if you believe those who say so, release eggs into the water so is not always a good idea - pick them out if you must try to get rid of them.

If you want chemical warefare, go with flubenol 15. Its an anti-parasite med that also kills of snails (and other things like shrimps if you have any!)
