Tiny pink jumping things

I have noticed that some of the plant leaves protruding from the water have small colonies of tiny mite type things which jump.

What are they and what do I do about them?

Water fleas? I've no idea how to get rid of them so I'm moving this to the plant section and hopefully someone will be able to help.

if they just stay at the surface on plants that are emersed then more likly its aphids but since they jump they could just be spring tails. these things are normally shipped with aquatic plants since many aquatic plants are grown emersed and not submersed a few of these things come along for the ride. if they swim underwater then they could be water fleas.
