Hi,

I have a tinfoil bard about 8 Inches long and is seems to be bleeding as its body is red like blood.

Just wondering if it hurt itself through scraping her body or is it some kind of disease.

Anyone can shed some light on it.

Thanks

you would do better in tropical fish emergiencys. but while im here, what does it look like a splodge of red? does it look infected?
still go tropical fish emergiencys and you will get a better responce

Are there streaks of red in the fins?

It does sound like septicemia which very few, if any fish survive. You can try treating the tank with an anti bacterial medication but without knowing your location i cant advise on one really. If you are in the UK then Interpet #9 is the best available medication for bacterial diseases and can be backed up with melafix at the same time to prevent secondary infections, large regular water changes can help too.

Yes, there are streak of red in the body

I have used an anti bacterial medication called Mardel Maracyn-two. ( I am from Canada)

I hope this will work. He seems very active despite this disease though.

This is a follow up on the situation.

Not sure if the medication is working or not. So far , it is still active and eating as usual except that I am not feeding him with vegetables anymore. I am afraid that the vegetables may be one of the cause of its illness.

Can anyone suggest what to feed him with as he has a very big appetite and am not sure now if I am underfeeding it as I have stopped giving it vegetables
