I've never liked the black-and-white gravel I have as a substrate, and I'm sure that my bottom dwellers dislike the gravel, if not the color as well. Therefore, looking to change the substrate soon.
Supplies I plan on getting:
2 bags of sand from home depot
Preparing the sand:
Not too sure about this, though I know that it has to be washed, just not sure how
Getting the sand in:
To do this, I take it that the gravel has to be removed first.
Also, I'm going to net and bucket all the bottom feeders, but I'd probably have to turn off the filter until the sand settles, and the other fish might get in the way, so should i move them to a bucket as well?
