Hi All, I am new to all this forum stuff, I have a 55 UK Gallon tank and I have been offered 2 Tiger Oscars which are about 7-8 inches in size. Would they be ok in the tank or will I have to get a bigger one?

Thanks, I look forward to your answers.

i am afraid you woul need a bigger tank.

i think 75g is minimum for a single adult fish

Blah, everyone has the misconception that you need a huge tank to house fish. In my experience a 55 would be fine for 2 oscars. Although, it will limit the size they will grow. It's not like your fish is gonna die immediately if you don't have a 75gal or higher. In a smaller tank though, once the oscars get large they will become more aggressive.

Thanks, I am only going to have the 2 Oscars in there and a couple of loaches....
