Hello. I'm having a problem with my otherwise very healthy Tiger Oscar. Lately our little guy, Steve has been having a weird problem. He seems to have some sort of red ball protruding from his backside, and I cant figure out what it could be. It almost looks as if he is pooping out his insides :/
It doesn't seem to bother him at all but I am very worried. I don't know how to explain what it looks like other than a ball of bloodworms, maybe? He doesn't have any change in eating, attitude, pooping, etc. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks in advance for your help!

mmmm try and find a picture on the internet that looks like it? It's just that it does really help the members on here help :/

I haven't been able to find anything even remotely similar. I will try to find a way to take a picture though.

Turns out it was a worm parasite. I have a treatment to use over the next nine days. When I figure it out I will start posting pictures. Hopefully it works out. He is a tough fish. He already recovered from an Ick outbreak that killed three of his tank mates. As for the parasite, I have not found out how it was introduced into the tank.

How big is the tank that he is in and the water params? I only ask because a lot of fish disease could be due to poor conditions

45 gal tank. Good filtration. We always treat our water, and do water changes. Heat always between 78 and 82 degrees. He does share it with three red bellied piranhas. I know the tank isn't big enough for them when they grow but they are all very young still. They have a few caves for shelter but oddly they get along and share one cave. When they grow I know they will need separate/ bigger tanks but for now they are all very happy.
