We have a community tank - 3 swordtails, 6 corys, 3 pristellas, 3 glass cat fish, and 3 tiger barbs. The tigers are in the ratio of 1 male to 2 females. WE would like some more tigers - do we go for similar ration ie another 1 male and 2 females or would our fiesty male do better with another couple of females - to make the ration 1/5? He is fairly non- aggressive at the mo. Tank size is 180 litres so there is plenty of room.

 Male Tiger is called Spike because all he needs is a gold chain around his neck and a couple of rottweilers!

He really does believe he is in charge - bit like my husband!

IME the more TB's the better, larger schools have less aggression.
It would also be prudent to have 1 male to 2 females
so 6 TB's(being the minimum number to keep)= 2 males 4 females.

EDIT
BTW the glass cats should also be in groups of 6 or more. I'm betting you hardly see the 3 you have.

Thanks for the tip on the Tigers. WE will go with that.

Strangely when we put the glass cats in the new tank they seemed to get a new lease of life and scooted around with all the others quite happily. But today (3 days later) we are back to the hiding at the back syndrome. Seems such a shame because I think they are absolutely beautiful fish. But so shy it's a bit disappointing.

I may have to work on the hubbie to buy some more but he doesn't like them at all so may be a problem! I may have to trade - ie no more aquatic frogs if I can have a couple more glass cats! We did have 4 glass cats but one disappeared! I have a theory that it probably dissolved! :/
