as my 7 tiger barbs are getting bigger i am noticing that 2 will form tight circles with each other and bite each other. they just go around in very tight circles biting untill the loser turns and runs. the loser then loses much of its colour and starts to resemble an albino for a little while. later on its colour returns.

also my betta is fearless. it goes right up to pleco and steals its algea wafer while pleco is still munching on it. pleco dislikes this and goes after betta. pleco beats up on betta untill it gives the wafer back. betta doesnt care though and keeps stealing the algea wafer over and over. i try to give them 2 wafers, but betta only wants the wafer that pleco is munching on.

im considering seperating them, but id like a better solution. should i increase the ammount of food i give?

Some Betta's have a hard time getting along with other fish. That's at least with the ones I've owned. My current betta doesn't get along with anybody. I have mine with a crab atm and he tries to boss the crab around everytime he gets into the water to scavenge off the bottom. The crab was scared of him at first but now the crab ignores him when my betta flares at him.

You could get your betta some betta food. I feed mine Betta Bio-Gold made by Hikari. They sell it at the Wal-Mart's near me. I give him about 3-4 a day and he loves them. He ignores the food I put in for my crab like a algae wafer or some catfish wafers. It really depends on your betta though. You might want to ask in the betta forum too. They might have a betta idea's than I have.

I wouldn't worry about the Tiger Barbs, imo. They are just establishing their pecking order and they do it alot. If you are really worried you could add some more if you have the room. The more the better with Tiger Barbs.
