Tiger Barbs Help

Hi all. I have just bought 8 Tiger Barbs for my tank. i was told that i should get 6 or more cause they like going in groups.
They all seem to be adapting to there tank well.
Although 1 of the fish is trying to attack them all. Its really strange, he is the same size as the others, but he just keeps swimming after each 1, don’t know if this is normal behavior or I should tank him out of the tank?
it looks like he will drive them to exhaustion.

hi, tiger barbs often fight amongst themselves, one of the reasons to keep so many is so they squabble with each other rather than picking on other speceis. it should calm down eventually.

ok thank you. Would it help if i bought some more tiger barbs? would it reduce the aggression?

ours used to do exactly the same, to asert a hierachy amongst themselves. this should quiten down after a while. they are somewhat slightly aggy fish regardles though i found. we just rehomed ours due to trying to breed other species.

Another quick question, can I add different types of barbs now that I have the tigers? Was thinking of adding 6 green barbs. Will they tolerate each other or just make a big war between them both lol

If you mean green tigerbarbs (The sort of mossy green coloured ones) then I've usually find they just slot in with the regular ones.

ok ill give the tank time to settle abit because ive only just put 8 tiger barbs in there. ill get some more nxt week. thanks for your help.
