Tiger Barbes

my tiger barbes keep rubbing his self up on plants is this ok ore not :good:
Sounds like something's itching their skin. If they do it once in a while might be ok, but if they're doing this all the time it sounds like some parasite problem or heavy metals in the water (if they do this after a water change)

its ony now and aging thanks for your help :good:
How often? I've had swordtails doing something like that to decorations long ago, they would do that only like once a day or less and nothing happened to them. But I've read that it can be a sign of parasites if it's like once every hour or few minutes.

i think i know why my tiger barbe is rubbing him sefl on the plants. i had a look carefully. and i got one femal and male tiger barbes . its all court ship. he showing off. how many tiger barbes do you have to mate :good:

I never heard of fish doing that as courtship. They'd at most show off their tail and stay in front of the female. They might scratch an itch once in a while. But if they do it too often, it might mean an early sign of white spot disease or gill parasites.

Speaking of breeding... I am expecting swordtail fry within 2 weeks. o_O female's gravid spot is pretty big.
