Getting concerned so I figured I ought to post here as I would like to take quick actions. Basically the tiger barb is hiding all the time. I had ICH just over a week ago. Did the treatment and put the filter back in and did a water change on Wednesday. All fish were clear of issues. Today the tiger barb that hides all the time came out and flashed once against a plant. I hate to retreat the tank for no reason. I don't see any white spots. There are a couple flecks the color of the fish on the tail, but they were present (I believe, but not 100%) before the ICH was even a problem. All other fish are acting fine. This barb was the first fish to show signs in this tank with ICH.

Not sure what to do. I don't want to treat unless I have a confirmed diagnosis. Would really hate to treat again as I have already stressed my BN catfish enough and the treatment actually killed one of my two otocinclus. :(

I'm starting to think that there is more than just a possible 2nd case of ICH. This fish is particular has been stressed since a few days after I got it. It's not brightly colored. It looks pale and depressed. I am thinking about removing it from my tank and putting into an isolation tank to observe a day or two and if I find out if there is an internal issue or disease I can treat this fish separately from the others and hope not to stress all my others too. I know if it is ICH then I might have some issues reoccur in the main tank. D:

Your tanks overstocked.
First thing we need to look at as your water quality in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Bad water quality can cause flicking and laboured breathing.

The flecks on the fish do they look fluffy.
Do they look like a dusting.

Until we know water stats we are guessing what it could be.

Well, my water is fine surprisingly. Today would be 7 days since my last one and my levels were:

pH 7.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0

Was told I have a very very slight trace of nitrate. Probably from overfeeding. I don't doubt it. I have been overfeeding the last few days.

Also, my tiger barb is mostly back to good health. Or at least not hiding as much. In fact on one of her bad days earlier this week she was moping in the plants and I fed some crushed krill to the fish. She came darting out just as fast as everyone else then began chasing away the danios. Doing the whole "MINE! ALL MINE!" thing. I just pointed at her and said...you're a faker.

I'm starting to think she is a she. She seems rounder on the bottom compared to the other two tiger barbs her size and she eats less.

She is slowly beginning to look more and more like this image:

It's rare to have a nitrate reading of 0.
Unless you have a tap nitrate reading of 0, have live plants.
Test your tap nitrate reading.
Nitrate only harmful to fish one it's a high reading. Around 50 to 100.

If any more changes get back to the board.
Good Luck.
