Tiger Barb White Spot

Hey,

A friend of mine has a couple of barbs with white spot ontheir noses..

I have researched the best method of treating, and one source tells me I can increase the water temp. by 10 degrees, for 24 hours, and then let it cool down. Does this method work? Has anyone else tried it before?

The white spots on the nose do they look like grains of salt or bigger.
