Tiger Barb Swimming Nose Down Or On Side

My tiger Barb has started swimming nose down or on its side today.
In a hexagon tank by himself.
Change of water did not help.
New stone on air line did not help.
What does this mean?
How can I help keep it alive?

Can we take a look at your water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.Is the tummy bloated up.Once fish lay on there sides they rarely make it.Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.

How big is the tank? How long has it been set up? How long has your barb been on his own.

Barbs usually stand on their noses when they're not feeling too good.
