I was sat on my PC when I heard a strange noise from my tank (just a bit of splashing).
Went over and saw 1 of my perfectly healthy tiger barbs swimming very erratically, upside down and jumping very hard, hitting the roof of the tank, in the heat of the moment I decided to net him and just leave him in the open net to just try and stop him jumping so hard, he just swam upside down and slowly rose to the surface, where he basically is dead. Just floating there.

All were counted for and healthy about 3 hours ago when I dosed with fert.
Only thing I can think of is I dosed 20ml of JBL ferropol 3 hours ago, I've only dosed this once before about 10 days ago.

All my stats are as normal (I use seneye + to monitor) but here they are anyway:
Temp: 27*c (Always ran this temp, so it may seem high, always consistent for past 7+ months.
Tank size: 160L
Tank stock: 6 x tiger barb (now 5), 6x red eye tetra, 1 x honey gourami, 2 x rainbow fish, 1 x bristlenose plec.
ammonia: 0.001
ph: 7.48

No marks or bites on the tigerbarb at all.
My last additions were the 2 x rainbowfish 1 month ago.

sorry for your loss :-( . i wish i could help but i'm pretty new at this

Sorry to hear that. The thing that seems odd is the floating to the top right away. That and the swimming upside down is like the fish has trapped gas inside. Did you just do a water change by any chance?

How did you dose the Ferropol? If you added it undiluted and that fish got the most of it it's possible that's why he reacted this way.

What's your opinion of the seneye?

Yup, added the ferropol undilted, just poured it from the cap into top of water, tbh my fish were swimming through it, as whenever I open the lid they come straight to the top thinking it's feeding time.
My impressions of seneye are very good, lets me see how my NH4/PH gradually diminish as I start to need a water change. Also very interesting to see and compare the bar charts, I can see that as my temp dips/rises 1*c my pH dips/rises about 0.5. And is also just piece of mind regarding temperature etc.
